Pop Tarts is a well known derogatory phrase, used in the media to describe female pop singers. The phrase was first used in the magazine "The Smash" in February 1994, to describe the Spice Girls. By the end of the year, the Saturday Sun, the Daily Executor and the Guradian had all used the word. College Kornflates, the manufacturers of breakfast cereals, stole the phrase and now use it for a processed food with an unhealthy ammount of sugar in it.
